In 2014, Martin Foradori Hofstätter seized the welcome opportunity to revitalize the historic “Weingut Dr. Fischer” on the Saar. The small, internationally acclaimed winery cultivates Riesling in the top class, steep sites “Ockfener Bockstein” and “Saarburger Kupp”. This concavely curved vineyard slope surrounds the tiny wine village Ockfen like a natural amphitheater.
The estate achieved international acclaim with the “Ockfener Bockstein”. Its steep south and southwest facing plots are comprised primarily of grey slate. The soil and climate are ideal for clearly structured, mineral, delicately fruity Rieslings.
By integrating the Steinbock” selection wines into the portfolio, Martin’s focus is to capture the essence of the Saar in top cru vineyards, while also offering great expression and value.
Visit Brand WebsiteThis Riesling is an outstanding introductory wine in the fabulous world of Mosel Riesling and the Prädikatswein from Dr. Fischer. The wine is off-dry, very aromatic with great crisp acidity and a long finish.
This Riesling is the excellent entry-level wine in the quality hierarchy of wines of designated origin. The wine appears in an intense straw yellow color, with a bouquet of the classic Mosel – “slate note” and with an accent of the fresh notes of citrus fruits.
Exhibits floral components reminiscent of elderflower, lilac, and violets as well as a salty-smoky mineral character.
This non-alcoholic beverage is low in calories yet still complex, refreshing and lively. Its fine mousse and harmonious acidity make it an ideal aperitif and a fitting companion to good cuisine.
Straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Fragrant, aromatic notes of white fruits and citrus. Soft and refreshing on the palate.
Ripe blackberry fruit on the nose, with hints of black pepper, cloves and subtle vanilla. Juicy and spicy on the tongue. A pleasantly intense aroma of dark cherries and plums.
